Scanography is photgraphy with a scanner as a camera. I enjoy using the scanner to bring out incredible detail in tiny objects, such as minuscule insects. I also enjoy a more freeform version of scanography that involves moving the item on the scanner glass during the scan. While I’ve gained some ability to plan the effect I am after, it is impossible to know exactly what you’ll get. That’s what makes it fun: it’s a surprise literally every time.
